The BioWoQ research project aims to enhance biodiversity in residential neighbourhoods through behaviour-based strategies, addressing the global biodiversity crisis. Funded by the Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt (DBU), BioWoQ is realized in collaboration with hanova Wohnen GmbH and KSG Hannover GmbH, with support from the Environmental and Urban Greenery Department of the City of Hannover and the Insect Alliance Hannover.
Led by Prof. Dr. Ann-Kathrin Koessler, the project focuses on analysing incentives and barriers to biodiversity-promoting measures on properties owned by housing companies. These areas hold potential for creating synergies between people and nature through targeted behavioural changes and participatory planning.
